In Search of Perfect Light

Antti Haataja, a nature photographer with a Sámi background, has looked Arctic foxes in the eye on windbeaten highlands in the golden moments of the midnight; he has seen whales hunt in misty fjords, witnessed geese migrate through the fells in the autumn, skied in minus forty degrees in the light of the full moon during the polar night, and felt infinitely small when northern lights have exploded the firmament high above the fells. The wildlife of the north leads an intensive life in the summer, but life goes on in the dark of the polar night, too. The exhibition allows us to visit the wildlife of Sápmi from the highlands to the fascinating Arctic Ocean.
