Skolt Saami Memory Bank is a new operating model, consisting of both data management of archive sources and organised culture revitalisation work done in co-operation with already existing network of cultural institutions and social organisations. The aim is to help the Skolt Saamis revitalise and develop their own traditional culture.

It is a tool for repatriation of archive material, in participation and interaction with the Skolt Saami community. A new innovation is to plan and organise active interaction between archive and the people who utilise the results of research and Skolt Saami archive material.

The results of the ongoing work done in the project is distributed in many ways so that the gathered data will reach various needs of the Skolt Saami community. These are e.g. public seminars, to enable private use of the archive material by the Saami Culture Archive (University of Oulu, Finland), active culture work done in the Skolt Saami community and publications (articles, books, audio-recordings).
