Launch of Christmas season in Inari on 3 Dec. 2015

Nov 26, 2015 08:50 AM

On Thursday 3 December at 5 p.m., Siida will launch the Christmas season in the village of Inari through a Christmas event that is open for everyone. Siida has invited a range of players in the village to participate in decorating the Christmas trees – pines here in the north – in the vicinity of the Siida Building. For example, the day-care centres and the language nest in Inari, the municipality, the broadcasting company YLE Sápmi, the Sámi Archives, the cultural centre Sajos, the local parishes and the Inari Village Association will all decorate their own Christmas tree. During the event, the candles will be lit and we can admire beautiful Christmas trees that have been decorated creatively, or maybe traditionally, and each in its own way. What kind of Christmas tree do you like?

Siida needs an extension and alterations in the present service rooms, if the house wants its facilities to fulfil the requirements of today’s activities and their scope. Now, Siida is being developed with a focus on the integral themes of ecology, accessibility and flexible space use.
