The objective of our project activities is to develop the Sámi Museum’s contents and operating methods, as well as to product new information on Finland’s Sámi culture. In addition to our own projects we take part in joint projects with research institutes and tourism companies.

Ellos min árbi – Long live our cultural heritage
The Sámi Museum Siida’s community-based project Ellos min árbi – Long Live Our Cultural Heritage explores how repatriated Sámi objects can best become part of living Sámi culture. Through the project, Siida will strengthen its national and international repatriation efforts to return Sámi collections to the Sámi community in Sápmi.

The Sámi Museum Siida’s Virtual Sápmi (VISA) pilot project will develop a 3D scanning methods for the museum, which will then be used in the storage, community and exhibition work of the museum’s cultural environment and collection units.
