Definitions

The Sámi Museum (Sámi Museum – Saamelaismuseosäätiö) and Northern Lapland Nature Centre (Metsähallitus) are responsible for organising activities at Siida. Marketing name Siida.

The general terms for bookings, agreements and cancellations for Siida tickets, guided tours and separate facility reservations at Siida

RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT

A reservation can be made either orally or in writing. An oral agreement on a reservation will always be confirmed to the reserving party in writing.

Guided tours and facilities must be booked in advance tel. +358 400 898 212 or siida(at)samimuseum.fi. 

Unless otherwise specified in writing on the terms of payment, the reserving party shall pay all charges in cash or with a debit/credit card on location.  We accept Master Card, Visa and American Express-cards.  

Invoicing
Being invoiced after the event must always be agreed on separately in advance. 
Invoice must be paid by the due date.  All notes regarding the invoice must be reported within seven (7) days of the invoices date. The invoice is payed via a SEPA payment (IBAN-account number and the banks BIC-code) using the reference number. All payments must be made in Euros.

 

INTERNET RESERVATIONS

Customers should print their own confirmation, invoice and terms & conditions for online bookings. The reservations system will send confirmation to the email address provided by the customer. Customer must ensure that he/she get the confirmation.  

Invoice and receipt printing:
Siida shall not be liable for failed reservations; the customer must contact Siida immediately for assistance, if she/he does not receive the confirmation. 

Booking Confirmation:
Siida will not be liable for failed internet/online reservations and will not guarantee that the service will still be available, in case this should happen. 


Payment Service Provider
Paytrail Plc acts as a collecting payment service provider and is an authorized Payment Institution. Paytrail Plc will be shown as the recipient on your bank or credit card statement. Paytrail Plc will forward the payment to the merchant. For reclamations, please contact the website the payment was made to.

PRICE CHANGES

Siida reserves the right to correct errors in price information before the conclusion of the contract. 

 

CANCELLATIONS

All changes and cancellations need to be made by email.  A cancellation is considered as having occurred when Siida receives it in writing during office hours in Finland, by 16:00 local time. If a cancellation is received later than this time, it is considered to have been received the following day.  

The following cancellation policies apply according to whether the customer is cancelling a ticket, guided tour or separate facilities. 

If a customer cancels his or her Ticket reservation:
The cancellation is free of charge, if tickets are paid on spot in Siida.

In internet bookings:
If a customer cancels his or her Ticket reservation:
Over 24 hours prior to the beginning of the reservation period free of charge. 0-24 hours prior to the beginning of the reservation period, 100% of the reservation will be charged. 

If a customer cancels his or her Guided tour:
Over 2 days prior to the beginning of the reservation period free of charge.
0-2 days prior to the beginning of the reservation period, 100% of the reservation will be charged. 

If a customer cancels his or her Facility or Supervisory booking:
Over 7 days prior to the beginning of the reservation period free of charge 
2-7 days prior to the beginning of the reservation period, 50% of the reservation will be charged. 
0-2 days prior to the beginning of the reservation period, 100% of the reservation will be charged

In a case of illness:
Same cancellation policy applies than in regular cancellation cases.

Siida’s right to cancel the reservation:
In the event of Force Majeure or unreasonable impairment of the Party’s operations due to a similar cause (including but not limited to war, strike, weather, or other natural condition etc.). In this case, the customer shall have the right to a full refund of the payment.

 

FACILITY RENTAL

Rent of the conference facilities will cover general lighting, heating, normal electricity consumption and furnishings in the agreed-on manner as well as a general cleaning service. Any decorations, furnishings, structures and cleaning that differs from the norm will be charged for separately. The rental charge for the facilities may include additional equipment and services, if this was mentioned in the offer. 

Special arrangements
If Siida makes special arrangements at the customer’s requests, such as making changes to its furnishings, structures or programme, the reserving party shall commit to paying for the resulting expenses.

A guard service fee will be charged for reservations for times outside of normal opening hours 75€/start of a new hour and on Sundays and midweek holidays 150€ of a new hour (from 1 January 2020 95€/ start of a new hour during weekdays, 190€/start of a new hour on Sundays and holidays). The days, when Siida is closed but will be opened in order, the supervisory fee is minimum 2 hr.

Reserving party’s responsibilities
The reserving party shall be responsible for ensuring that the facilities, equipment and furnishings they have rented are not damaged. The reserving party shall be responsible for all damage, which the customer’s devices, staff, performers or audience cause to the property and the equipment and furnishings therein. The reserving party shall be responsible for all the devices and other belongings they bring to the conference location. The reserving party shall commit to complying with the instructions on the use of the facilities, furnishings and equipment provided by Siida’s personnel.  The reserving party shall appoint a person who is responsible for the event. 

Temporary structures
Parties, who reserve the facilities, shall not have the right to make changes to the reserved facilities, set up or attach temporary structures, signs or anything else without permission from Siida. 

Transfer of the agreement
The customer shall not have the right to transfer the agreement or give use of the facilities to a third party without permission to do so by Siida.  Even after receiving permission, the customer shall be responsible for seeing to it that the terms and conditions of the agreement are met. 

Changes
Any changes to agreements must be submitted in writing and be signed by both parties. 

 

INSURANCE

We recommend always having a travel insurance.

 

COMPLAINTS & APPLICABLE LAW

All remarks and complaints concerning our services are to be informed during the service or immediately after the service in writing to our customer service, or by email to: siida(at)samimuseum.fi.

The Contracting Parties shall strive to solve disputes concerning the Contract together through negotiations. In the event an agreement cannot be reached through negotiations disputes shall be carried out in the Rovaniemi district court. The Contract is bound by Finnish law. Siida shall not be liable for changes arising subsequent to this publication which are beyond our control.
