During this exceptional year our legendary Open-Air museum is also a place for different events and exhibitions.

June 

From Monday June the 14th, a museum hostess is present in the Open-Air Museum every week Mon–Fri, 11:00–12:00 and 15:00–16:00, until the end of August. (Exception: Midsummer’s Eve 25.6.) Changes are possible.

The barn has been made into an exhibition site again after 20 years! The Zero Arctic exhibition deals with a research project that examined how to benefit from traditional knowledge and the ideas of traditional construction in designing climate-friendly buildings.

July 

Our customers have a chance of participating in a guided tour of the Open-Air museum every Wednesday and Friday on weeks 29-31 at 11:00.

The museum hostess is not available between July 26th and August 6th.

August 

The arqueologist Juha-Pekka Joona tells about the Trap Trail in the hunting area of the museum at 11:00 and 15:00, in place of the museum hostess. Primary language: Finnish

A series of virtual events will start in August and continue through the rest of the year.

September

A continuous work demonstration:  Repair of Mirhamintupa 

The European Heritage Days start on 6 September with the theme “Withour Borders”. 

Celebrating the return of artefacts: The repatriation of the Sámi Collection of the National Museum of Finland.  Free entrance.
