Author Talk – Indigenous Writer, Kseniia Bolshakova

Dolgan writer Kseniia Bolsakova will present her novel All the Frost Melts, based on her childhood in a reindeer-herding family in the Russian Arctic.
Through the book, we will discuss tundra, reindeer herding, Indigenous relationships with land, and the ongoing effects of colonization and assimilation. The talk will also explore how Indigenous literature can transmit traditional knowledge and lived experiences between Indigenous peoples and from an Arctic region to another.
The talk will be introduced by her Sámi Publisher Kirsi Paltto from ABC-Company E-skuvla AS, which will publish the book in Sami in the end of the year. The book will be later translated also to Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. The main language of the event is English.
